Add an asset

Reads the name and symbol the contract declares. Use it to confirm the address the issuer published, never as proof: anyone can deploy a token that calls itself "TSLA".
Ties the token to the real-world security for auditors.
A synthetic token never qualifies as a tokenized equity: the engine denies every operation on it while the regulatory control is on. A third-party token needs 30 days from the notice to the issuing company before it can trade.
Why this matters. On-chain, a tokenized share is a contract address: unique and immutable, like an ISIN. People, boards and regulators need the name. The catalog maps one to the other. Each verification also stores the symbol that was in force at that moment, so evidence stays readable even if you rename an asset later. The address always wins in case of doubt.
